# Introduction to using rooms

Understand how Room Types work on the platform. This guide explains why organizing your rooms by category helps Tour Operators and Agents sell your property more effectively.

Setting up your rooms correctly is one of the most important steps in building your **Accommodation Listing**. **Tour Operators and Agents** need to know exactly what they are selling to their clients—whether it is a "Family Villa" with specific bedding or a standard "Luxury Tent."

**What is a Room Type?**

In the **Accommodation Platform**, we organize your inventory by **Room Types** rather than individual room numbers.

- **Example:** If you have 10 identical standard tents, you create **one** Room Type called "Standard Tent" and specify that there are 10 units available.

- **Why this matters:** This structure allows partners to check capacity and quote the correct room category without needing to know specific room numbers.

**Navigating to the Rooms section**

To start managing your rooms:

1. **Sign in** to your **User Account** and access your listing.

2. Click on the **Rooms** tab in the top navigation bar.

3. From here, you will see an overview of your current room categories and have the option to add new ones.

**Rooms for Guides and Staff**

Many properties keep separate rooms for guides, drivers, or other staff traveling with a group. You can add these as their own **Room Type** and mark them as **“This room is for guides/staff.”**

- **Who can see them:** Only **Tour Operators and Agents** can see these rooms. They are hidden from travelers, so your guest rooms stay the focus in quotes and on **SafariBookings**.

- **Why this matters:** Operators can plan and quote accommodation for their guides at the same time as their clients’ rooms, without having to contact you separately.

- **Example:** Create one **Room Type** called “Guide Room” or “Driver Quarters,” set the **Number of Units**, and tick **“This room is for guides/staff.”**
